If you have been up in the woods during the last week or so you will have noticed the sudden explosion of noise.
The new noise happily drowns out the background buzz of the city which is ever present even 10 kilometres into the woods.
As we witness the disappearance of the snow and ice, the birds are making themselves heard.
It is a joyful chorus of communication between millions of birds. It sounds like a form of celebration for having made it through a long, cold, dark winter.
It is tempting to stop and soak it all up for 10 minutes but the dogs must come first. And so it becomes the soundtrack to our adventures.
The birdsong acts as the perfect juxtaposition to the frantic, playful, crazy nature of the dogs.
Spring is here and the birds know it!
