The most wonderful customers in the world

I often write about how fortunate I am to go adventuring and exploring every day in the woods with great dogs.

But what I maybe do not express often enough is quite how wonderful my customers are.

Here is a little story from today which I would like to share:

I have dual nationality being both French and British.

I noticed belatedly a few weeks ago that my French passport had expired and I therefore needed to renew it. I booked an appointment at the embassy for this afternoon.

Any of you who are French or have experience of dealing with French matters will know that the system is unbelievably bureaucratic.

One of the things that I needed to bring to my appointment today was a paper copy of a letter or bill with my name and address on it.

We are now in 2024 and all of my post is digital and sent via email. On top of this all of my business systems are paper free and therefore I do not own a printer.

Yesterday I tried at three different shops to get an email letter printed out, but I was informed that all of their systems are now online as well.

I had mentioned to one customer who lives just by the French Embassy that I might see them during the afternoon as I would be parking up in their road.

After my stalemate yesterday with no shops being able to print my email I asked my customer if they knew of a shop nearby where I could do this.

They asked me what time my appointment was.

No more than five minutes later I got a message telling me to email my digital letter to their partner and that the customer and dog would take a morning walk to the office, pick up my printout. I could then collect it when I parked up my van for the embassy appointment.

It is no exaggeration to say that I was extremely moved by this kind gesture.

We do our utmost to try and help our customers so that their daily lives can be less stressful. So, so many of our customers have become very good friends over the years of adventuring with their canine family members.

Today I’m grateful for all of my wonderful customers, and a special big thank you to those customers who went above and beyond to help me and make my day less stressful so that I could focus on some fantastic dog adventures.
