Last night when I was out on my evening walk I bumped into one of my neighbours who is also a customer.
Naturally I stopped to have a chat and say hello to their gorgeous dog.
We chatted happily for a few minutes and then when the time came to walk in different directions the customer turned to me, looking me in the eye, and told me how impressed and happy they were with the walks and attention we give to their dog.
I have never been particularly good at receiving compliments. I will admit that it makes me well up and slightly emotional.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I thanked the customer for the compliment and told them that we absolutely try to do our best every day, both for the dogs and to help our customers.
And I can’t ask more of my fantastic team than to try and do their best on a daily basis.
It is not rocket science and there is no magic or secret formula. It is having the simple attitude to take pride in your work and to be of service to others whether two-legged or four-legged.
