I’ve always believed in, and being an advocate for, cooperation in the Oslo Dog Industry over the thought of ruthless competition.
There are more than enough dogs in Oslo and no reason to not keep it friendly between us.
As the old timer in the industry (though i still identify as a teenager), I know almost all the Dog Walkers and Dog Professionals in Oslo.
If ever we don’t cover a certain area or we don’t have capacity to take on a new dog, I happily recommend two or three alternatives whom I know are doing great work, cover the specific area of Oslo or might have capacity.
We regularly bump into each other in the woods, in car parks or just pass whilst driving around the City, waving cheerfully.
Today I bumped into another Dog Walker just when I was starting my walk and they were finishing theirs. We chatted quickly and I asked if they had seen anyone or any animals up in the woods.
Fast forward to post Adventure and I returned to my truck and saw that the Dog Walker had forgotten three of their long leads in the car park. Clearly they had been distracted whilst we chatted.
I have previously lost long leads in a similar manner. Not wanting for the other Dog Walker to suffer the same fate, I rolled up the leads, put them safely in my van and sent the Walker a message.
I informed them what had happened and asked where they would be walking tomorrow. It turns out that one of our destinations would be the same place at slightly different times.
Perfect in which case as I will hide the leads in a secret hidden spot, ready for them to pick up about 30 minutes later.
In an individual job where you sometimes feel slightly alone, it is lovely to have a great industry where everyone looks out for one another 🐾
