Catching the Sunrise

You have probably noticed of late that it is a little dark in the mornings when your alarm goes off.

Personally I seem to have shifted out of Summer mode (waking up naturally at 0430-0500 each morning) and Winter mode is 0600 alarm most days.

With sunshine and blue skies promised today, before a week or so of clouds and rain, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get up and out early with my morning group.

Starting in the bottom of Maridalen valley for our adventure the sun had not quite yet broken over the ridgeline to our East.

We could see rays of lights beaming upwards from the East…. A combination of a quick hill climb and the rising sun allowed us to be in Oslomarka for sun up.

It was absolutely stunning to behold, especially as parts of the valley were still covered in fog and mist.

By the time we reached the very top of our chosen ridge, the sun had pierced the morning sky and illuminated us and the woods, bathing us with it’s warmth.

An unforgettable experience to start a wonderful Tuesday.
