Endocannabinoids

Well, that is quite a mouthful. But what is it all about?

Science was never exactly my forté at school and therefore I will defer to Google to explain:

Anyways today I was listening to a podcast on running. It was describing the psychological, physical and physiological benefits of running regularly.

Whilst this was interesting, none of it was breaking news to me.

But then came the fascinating bit. Whilst they were researching the effects of endocannabinoids on humans, they also did the same studies on dogs.

Suddenly my ears pricked up like a German Shepherd.

The study showed that the same benefits with regards to stress, anxiety and mental health applied to dogs who ran instead of walked.

We love nothing more than to see your dogs running around and playing. And it would now see that the benefits of this freedom extend far beyond physical health.

We would like to think that when we drop off a dog they are not just tired but genuinely happy after the walk.

It now appears that science backs this up.
