A tale of 2 walks

Twas early April up in Scandinavia and after a long harsh Winter there were plenty of dog adventures to be had.

This is the tale of one day but two very different and enjoyable walks.

After the recent melting of the snow many of the residents of the hamlet of Oslo were into Spring modus. Shorts, bicycles and summer car tyres were everywhere.

And yet the weather gods had other ideas. Suddenly the wind direction changed and a short but cold snap would engulf the area.

Awakening bright hide and bushy-tailed one dog walker was happy to see the forecast snow had held off. Maybe the storm would not come, he thought.

On his first escapade with the dogs it was frozen and lovely…. Fresh air and easy walking, the dogs were loving it.

Upon delivering some of his co-adventurers home he saw the first snowflake falling from the sky. Did he actually see it? There were no others to be seen.

Within 10 minutes it was beyond doubt as the sky turned white and it started snowing quite hard.

Driving took on a new dimension and Winter adventure mode was engaged.

Arriving at the woods high up above the snowy Hamlet, the roads were now under 3-5cm of snow.

In the woods that last thin layer of ice was now camouflaged!

Even ice spikes couldn’t help as it was a veritable ice rink.

They slid, they skated, they fell, but it was to be one last memorable snow adventure of Winter worth the adrenaline and rush of excitement.

Winter would soon be over as the following week the Hamlet was forecast to get up to +17C and Spring would have finally sprung once and for all.

So here concludes the tale of 2 walks
