Roadtrippin’

I love a good roadtrip. It can literally be a short journey or a long haul but roadtripping with mates or dogs is such a great adventure.

I’m fully aware that lots of people are not big fans of driving and just enjoy getting to the destination as quickly as possible.

My family have never owned fast cars, and this probably contributes to the fact that I love a good road trip and taking my time over the journey as opposed to focusing on the destination.

My childhood was largely spent driving around in an old VW campervan, regularly breaking down and waiting at the side of the road trying to make the most of the adventure.

Fast forward to many years later and my Winter Boys’ Ski Weekend. It is always a joy to be crammed into a car with all of the equipment packed around us as we catch up, laugh, sing and joke.

During my working day my human mates are replaced with my doggy mates but the atmosphere is much the same. The roadtrip creates a sense of camaraderie, a gang who are bonded together by the expectation and excitement of forthcoming adventures.
