Today’s blog post is not about Vivaldi’s masterpiece, nor the Hotel chain, nor the low budget outdoor clothing brand.
Today I am talking about Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The original four seasons which have been around for quite a while now.
I just want to add at this point that Vivaldi’s Four Seasons are always worth a listen. And also Max Richter’s modern interpretation of the works which can be found on Spotify.
Today I wanted to talk about the seasons and what each one uniquely offers. This list is concise so as to not use up your entire evening.
Autumn: the most glorious colours signify the death of many leaves, plants and the end of the productive season before the true cold arrives. Cooler temperatures deliver much more energy after the stifling heat of Summer.
Winter: the monochrome and simplistic beauty of the landscape cloaked in snow frost and ice. Time for skiing and sledding , snowballs and fun.
Spring: the birth of new plants, grasses and trees as life returns to the landscape. Colours return as does the ability to wear lighter clothes. The days are getting longer giving more energy to humans and dogs.
Summer: the longest days and the warmth envelop the landscape. Dry woods and swimming in lakes to cool off with panting but happy doggies.
Here in Norway we are extremely fortunate to get four such distinct seasons. It shows us the true yearly cycle of life. To be witness to it is truly a privilege .
