Magical

Gone was the sunshine and the blue sky. Gone were the warm temperatures and the rolled up sleeves.

In their place had descended a thick, white cloud of fog and mist.

This new backdrop had completely changed the ambiance in the woods.

Adventures were still plentiful but the mass of white and low visibility enhanced the feeling of Autumn.

In the open and wide spaces there was little to be seen. Like a cloudy blanket shrouding the landscape.

Into the woods, and with the trees and bushes for contrast, suddenly the colours nearby would spring out and pop up.

It gives a rather magical and mystical feeling to exploring the trails. Some find these conditions to be eerie…. As if a barbarian horde will emerge from the mist, ready to attack.

The only thing which might jump out from the mist is a pack of happy dogs, playing and chasing gleefully.

I absolutely adore these conditions. It feels like you can see the woods breathing right in front of you. Nature is putting on a show to demonstrate our fantastic ecosystem.
