To slightly paraphrase Aristotle, “a good team is stronger than the sum strengths of its parts”.
Each part supports and rienforces each other part.
I am unbelievably fortunate to be surrounded by a great Team of Walkers. Of course this is not purely by chance, I have long adhered to the notion that it is “better to have a hole in the team than an a$$hole”.
A well oiled team runs smoothly together. My pun will become apparent shortly.
Early this morning just as we were starting to pick up dogs I received a phone call to inform me that one of our vehicles was leaking engine oil.
There has been a little drip for a week or so, and the aforementioned vehicle was already scheduled to go to the garage on Friday when we walk less dogs.
However the drip had increased considerably overnight and we decided that it was best to head to the garage immediately.
Small businesses always should have a mechanic friend on speed dial. After a little sweet talk it was decided that the van would be fixed and back on the road a couple of hours later.
The mechanics were true to their word and we were very grateful once again for their immediate help.
Meanwhile whilst all of this was going on, dogs were being moved into different suitable groups to ensure that there would be zero disruptions to our walk schedule today despite the unexpected inconvenience.
3 walkers took on a dog or two extra to ensure this smooth and seamless transition.
A team with a common purpose and goal of putting dogs above personal gain create its own strength.
A lot of thank yous to all involved today, you all know who you are.
