Some of my earliest childhood memories are remembering first snow. This may seem slightly strange for a child who grew up in London where snow only fell once every few years.
And yet that magical feeling is so strong that I remember it still vividly. The excitement and the happiness which snow brought with it.
They are feelings which have stayed with me and shaped my life. A lifelong obsession with downhill and big mountain skiing, living in the French Alps and traveling the World in search of great snow.
So many of these memories and feelings come flooding back with first snow every Winter.
I awoke to a very tiny dusting but it was during my first walk where the snow started to fall more heavily. By my afternoon Adventure most of the woods had been coated in one or two centimeters and turned the landscape to white and green.
So what about the dogs?
Well, if you think that I was excited you should have seen how happy they were once they realized the white gold had arrived.
The energy levels were absolutely through the roof with excitement. Whilst there is not enough yet for throwing snowballs, there was more than enough to roll in, sniff out and enjoy.
With more snow due this week and into the weekend, Winter Adventure Season could well be upon us.
