This morning as I took my pre-walks walk with Minttu I bumped into my neighbour and his dog.
As almost with every day I was checking out the temperatures and the snow conditions so as to be ready and best prepared for my adventures.
The sun had not yet risen and the woods were shrouded in a thick fog.
My neighbour jokingly referred to the fact that I had sunglasses on top of my hat.
I pointed to an area of the sky where the fog was a lot thinner and you could almost see through it.
“Don’t worry this fog will burn off soon and we are in for a sunny day” I informed him.
I am by nature and nurture an optimist.
I repeated my positive affirmations on the WhatsApp group chat.
Fast forward to the late afternoon and whilst I have seen thin fog I think it is fair to say that it never burnt off.
The sunglasses have remained as a fashion accessory as opposed to a practical item of equipment.
Despite my early morning optimism with regards to the weather, the fact that I was proved wrong did nothing to dampen the enjoyment of two fantastic foggy adventures.
A little sidenote and follow up to yesterday’s dog blog: the wife of the incredibly kind gentleman who helped us out contacted me. She confirmed that she indeed follows our adventures daily.
After refusing my offer of a bottle of wine as a token of my gratitude, we came to an agreement. Next time that their dog goes on a solo adventure they will let me know and my team and I will be on hand to repay the favour.
