Yesterday afternoon as soon as I was finished with my last dog adventure of the day it was time for Minttu and I to go Road Trip.
We had a bit of traffic as we were leaving Oslo, aiming to arrive at our destination to meet my good friend.
Our destination and adventure would be based mainly on an island near Sundvollen, on the way to Hønefoss.
So what were we up to?
A few weeks ago my van had failed the EU Kontroll. I was informed that it was still perfectly safe to drive but that I would need to change the suspension coils on both sides of the front of the truck.
Those parts have been ordered delivered and were now ready to be installed by my good friend happens to very handily also be a mechanic.
Whenever we fix the van together it gives us the opportunity to catch up. I miss both him and his partner Sandra who actually was the first other dog walker in the company apart from myself many years ago.
Whenever I meet help with my friend we always seem to have great fun and unexpected Adventures. Yesterday who would prove to be no different.
After we had cut off both old suspension parts we discovered that one of his colleagues had not replaced a tool which we would need to complete the job.
My friend insisted this was no problem and that he had one back at his house. So he, Minttu and I jumped in the Can-Am.
For those who aren’t familiar with these, here is a photo:

For my little Sheepdog it was like a trip down memory lane going back to the first 8 weeks of her life on a working farm in Southern Norway.

Eventually and late into the night all of the necessary work had been carried out on the Dog Adventure Truck and it is now ready to be retested this evening and pass the EU Kontroll.

Whilst we toiled on the van, Minttu kept my friend’s colleagues busy, joining them in their kitchen and playing fetch with a ball she managed to find somewhere!
It was starting to be late but we decided to stop at the Marina so as that I could check out the boat he has spent the last 9 months renovating and restoring, painstakingly with love.
If the weather will allow we will head out on the boat one night next week on the Tyrifjorden. I’ll share some photos when it happens.
Quick shout out to Toyota, as my old front suspension has lasted for more than 360,000 km.
However imagine my extra pleasure at realizing that the front of the truck now sits 5cm higher than yesterday.
A big, big thank you, and eternal gratitude, once again to my mechanic friend who allows me to be able to fix the Truck outside of work hours so as to not impact or cancel any of your Dog Adventures.
