Grandiose

From the moment I left my house this morning to take my dog Minttu out for a pre-adventures walk, I knew that today was going to be rather special.

As I walked the short distance to the woods, I saw clear skies above, the moon and the stars twinkling.

When you have not seen clear sky in weeks it is a special feeling.

Below I could see Oslo city shrouded in thick cloud. It would stay that way for most of the day.

Up in the woods there was lingering mist but the sun was trying to burn it off and shine through.

With each turn and whichever way we looked the backdrop was grandiose.

It is hard to put such scenery into words, and it is not always possible to capture it in our photos.

But all of you will know that feeling of being in Nature in the most resplendent light.

It simply lifts the soul and makes you grateful to be able to witness it.

I often wonder if my four-legged Adventure companions are able to appreciate the beauty of the scenery. I would like to think so, but this could just be my anthropomorphisation, as we so often tend to do with our dogs.

What is clear is that they were loving the Adventures today regardless of their appreciation of quite how beautiful it was.
