If you explore a little further into the Oslomarka Woods you will find the Trail Trenches.
The more frequented trails and paths have been well walked in. This leaves a comparatively wide “Avenue” to walk down on our adventures.
However the smaller trails have not been afforded this footfall, and as such are narrow and deep. It leads to somewhat of a trench, with hardened frosty snow on either steep bank.
Jump out of the trench and you might break through this snow crust and sink in, using considerable energy to advance or return to the safety of the trail trench.
And therefore it ends up with a veritable conga line of dogs as we proceed forwards.
Several of these trails were actually walked in by myself, the Team of Walkers and your dogs last week when we had some snow storms.
Like I mentioned in a previous blog it is crucial to walk in these trails so as we can still access some of these fantastic areas throughout winter even if the snow conditions become more difficult.
