Slip-on Ice Spikes / Brodder

When the conditions get slippery I get asked a lot about ice spikes and spiked shoes to combat the conditions.

I have previously written about spiked shoes and touched lightly on Ice spikes.

Good quality ice spikes are a real game-changer for dog Adventures. Yes they cost a little more money than the cheap variant, but they are absolutely worth it.

Think of it as the difference between eating at McDonald’s or eating in a Michelin starred restaurant. They will both give you calories but the end result, in so many ways, is so vastly different.

As you can well imagine I have a few different sets of slip-on Ice spikes. Some have longer metal spikes and others shorter so that you can choose how much grip is required depending on how extreme the weather is.

It also allows me to lend them out to visiting friends and family, or just so as people can try them with a view to purchase.

Over the years I have tried several brands but for the moment my favourite are Snowline.

They seem to be very well put together, offer great grip and durability. Easy to slip them over your shoes, trainers or boots and off you go.

Snowline seem not to fall off and I can’t remember ever having lost one, or having to search for one.

Lastly just to add that this is not a promotion, I am not sponsored or affiliated to them, but they can happily send over some freebies for us to test if they so wish
