The Great Melt

The Great Melt has very much officially started!

Today felt more like Easter than the start of March as we waded through the slushy snow up in Oslomarka!

It is hard to quantify and explain quite how much snow has melted in the last 24 – 48 hours.

What is more astonishing is that it has been freezing overnight for the last few nights.

But this afternoon, the combination of warm breezes blowing from the South and over +8C degrees did the damage.

Some will be glad to see the back of the snow, but not me…. Nor your dogs!

It would be fantastic if some snow could stick around until April and even into the start of May.

I’m not done with my Doggy Snow Adventures and I’m not finished with my ski season.

However nothing in life is ever permanent and there is no point fighting the changing seasons…. It is a fruitless use of your energy.

And so we will just learn to make the most of the Great Melt and find the positives in it.

One such positive is quite how easy it is to make one-handed snowballs and throw them quite far for your dogs.

The slushy snow is happily sapping their playful energy and hopefully you’re finding some pretty tired and content pups upon returning from work.
