You would be forgiven for thinking that Mamie is a dog.
Mamie is actually what my kids call my Mother. It is the affectionate French term which is used for grandmothers. With my mother being French it was a logical word for them to use.
Due to a pretty long, dark and very cold Winter my parents have not been to Oslo for five months.
With the new tropical climate having arrived they booked their tickets and arrived on Tuesday evening.
Yesterday the logistics didn’t particularly work for my mum to join me with my groups. But this morning was the perfect opportunity for her to get back out into Oslomarka with myself and a good gang.
Those of you who regularly read the Dog Blog, you will know that my mother is no stranger to joining on an Adventure or two and knows many of your dogs.
I had chosen a path with beautiful views and yet not too challenging, though I will admit that I am extremely impressed with her health and energy levels, for what will remain an undisclosed age. It was a new Walk which she has never previously been on which, just like her son, gave her immense joy to discover new areas.
My children found it slightly unfair that Mamie was allowed to go on Dog Adventure with daddy whilst they headed off to kindergarten. Their time will come.
It would seem that 23rd April is “take your mum to work day”. It is always a pleasure never a chore.
