A weekend in Sørlandet

This weekend just gone Minttu and I had the immense pleasure of discovering Sørlandet. We had been invited to spend the weekend with a good friend at his cabin.

The cabin sits on an island out in the Oslofjord, and as such we were picked up by my friend in his boat to ferry us out to the most idyllic of settings.

The area surrounding the cabin has its own micro ecosystem due to the weather, leading to finding species of trees, plants and flowers which I have not found in other parts of Norway.

I felt like David Attenborough or even Alexander von Humboldt as i explored the area taking photos and marvelling in Nature as Minttu bounded around.

Saturday afternoon the heavens put on a show for us with thunder and lightning as we gazed across the bay, taking it in.

We also had time to visit some World War 2 fortifications, tunnels and bunkers on a nearby island, capping off a truly unforgettable weekend.
