Rivers, Lakes and Shade

With the mercury in the thermometers slowly climbing higher as the week progresses, we have put an emphasis on finding water sources and shade so that your dogs will not overheat on the Adventures.

As I mentioned last week we have been pretty lucky so far this Summer that temperatures have kept under 22 or 23C up in Oslomarka.

This is now our 14th Summer of Dog Adventures and we know some great spots. We also know that when it is more than 23C, energy levels drop and your dogs need to cool off. Some of them realise this, whilst others are a little too young and excited.

Taking a couple of minutes to stop at a clean source of water allows even the craziest of dogs to realise they need a drink.

It is remarkable quite how much of a temperature difference there is from shade compared to being out in the exposed sunshine.

Over the coming days the temperatures will only get hotter as they build towards the weekend.

Older dogs and young adults may well be switched to morning Adventures when the sun is slightly more forgiving.

Summer has arrived and we will adapt accordingly to ensure that your dogs are both well looked after, but still continue to have great Adventures.
