And some pant when the Heat is on! (Dogs aren’t able to sweat)
It looks like we are coming to the end of the Oslo mini-heatwave.
Luckily we have escaped the scorching temperatures that mainland Europe has experienced over the past few weeks.
However it was certainly more than hot enough for Scandinavia. Temperatures in Oslo reaching the low 30s in the shade and 28-29C up in the woods.
If it was hot for humans, just imagine our 4-legged friends. My own Border Collie, normally an energy bomb has been sprawled out like an Athens street dog trying to find cool areas at home. Ironically she moved away from the fan I set up to keep her cool as clearly she felt it made too much noise and disturbance!
In the coming days clouds will return, then thunder and lightning as the weather breaks, followed by rain. We will be dancing in the rain, lapping it up alongside your dogs.
But for the while we will be finding shade and staying hydrated.
