With a slightly easier paced Friday ahead with less dogs and only one Adventure, I head to the woods with Minttu to explore and do some search training.
We were training and happily enjoyed the empty woods when we suddenly got a visitor.
Minttu was so busy searching for the hidden treat that she didn’t see our guest at first.
A beautiful, curious and inquisitive fox stopped on the trail and was observing Minttu. The fox had not noticed me standing no more than 6 metres away.
Having grown up with foxes in the back garden at my parents’ house I knew that I should be calm and make no sudden movements. Eventually the fox saw me, but seemed to understand that I wasn’t a threat.
The fox retreated a little, moving back into the nearby trees. But it didn’t run off. It circled around us and came back 4 more times to see what we were doing and where we were going.
On 2 occasions the fox decided to retreat as i slowly reached for my phone to take a photo. It wasn’t to know that my intentions were to capture a photo and not to harm it.

Eventually it carried on its way and circled back up the hill and around. Given its original route, on returning from no doubt a quick meal around Langmyrgrenda, I think that I might know where its den is located for 2026.
A truly wonderful experience to start my Friday.
Happy weekend
