The (almost) TV Stars

In this line of work you truly have no idea what random things will crop up during the working day.

It keeps you on your toes, keeps life interesting and certainly keeps you smiling.

Today, as I was picking up a dog down a little side street in Frogner, I noticed that there was a TV production crew hanging out in my customer’s driveway.

They were clearly filming in the alleyway next to where the dog lived.

Even though I do not own a television, even I recognized some of the actors.

I waited for the signal from the production team and made a quick, efficient pick up of the dog before once again waiting a minute or so, so that my diesel engine rumbling would not ruin the following take.

Fast forward almost 3 hours and post adventure, we returned to what was clearly the shooting of the last few scenes of the day.

At first I was slightly concerned as there was a police car and police officer outside the dog’s property.

A couple of seconds later I realized that this was still part of the filming… and the police officer was in fact an actress.

Dog and I once again waited patiently. Some of the production crew even took the chance to come over and say hello to him as they hid out of view of the cameras.

Final scene completed of the day and once again I headed in, this time to drop off my 4 legging friend.

As I was leaving the property one of the actors caught my eye, smiled and thanked me for my hard work that day.

Instead of telling him that I wasn’t part of the production crew, and that I was in fact a dog walker, I accepted his thanks and told him it was my pleasure.

Unfortunately no one asked for my name or the dog’s name so I doubt we will appear in any credits as Extras “man with dog”.

Doggies: Deano, Sonja, Henie, Mino and Hedda
