The Return of the Bams!

We hope that you’ve had a lovely Friday so far enjoying this glorious weather.

I thought today I would share a little story about the Return of the Bams.

Big Bamse started walking with us way back in 2013 and is our longest serving doggy.

Back then he was a young gun and full of crazy energy and super powerful. I remember several times being physically pulled over by him in icy or wet conditions.

Big Bams was a weekly adventure companion right up until the middle of the last harsh Winter. A combination of the extreme cold and deep soft snow meant that he was struggling, especially with his back legs, as he sank deep into the snow.

After talking with his owners we decided it was maybe time for him to take a little break as the walks were a little too demanding in those conditions.

Fast forward to three days ago and an email pops up in my inbox asking if my old walk buddy can join up again for some new adventures.

Absolutely!

I was informed that the big man was in good shape and that he was on medication to help his joints in his senior years.

And so, early this morning once again, and for over the thousandth time, I greeted my old friend.

We managed the tempo of the walk so as to ensure that it was not too much after so many months away. And whilst the big man was pretty shattered post adventure, he had a beaming smile on his face as I helped lift him back into the truck.
