Hello and welcome to høstferie (Autumn break) here in Oslo.
Quick reminder to everyone that we have normal walks this week and if you are heading away or have travelled to your cabin just let me know. That way you will not be called up by your house alarm company as we do our best not to break in.
For those of you who are working and in Oslo this week, you will hopefully enjoy reading today’s dog blog.
As the city empties for Autumn break, it is absolutely the best time to explore the woods and be a dog walker / have a dog.
The rush hour traffic has disappeared and you can find parking spots pretty much everywhere in Oslo whilst picking up the happy pups.
You might well think that with school half term holidays, parents who are in Oslo would be up in the woods with their families…. Alas and disappointingly this does not seem to be the case.
Their loss is absolutely our gain as we adventure unencumbered and free.
With the fresh weather having arrived the dogs are full of energy to bounce around in the plethora of autumn colours.
It feels like I am living in an Instagram feed of nature, Autumn and Norway. And yet clearly living completely in it, in full reality and with all my senses, makes it a thousand times better.
Do not get me wrong I love a good cabin trip and I adore the mountains. But much like that I love Oslo during Summer holidays and the month of July, I also love to remain in the city when everyone else leaves.
Instead of the city feeling cramped and busy it seems open, wide and spacious.
With the daylight during the evening starting to close in and the temperatures starting to drop, this week could, for many, be the last chance to head out and find some great mid-week Adventures after work without a head torch.
So why not go and explore the vast nature playground on your doorstep?
