The mornings are dark and we are getting less and less daylight. The temperatures are dipping and it is hammering down with rain outside.
And yet some British bloke has just rocked up to collect your dog with sunglasses atop his hat.
You would be forgiven for assuming he is either insane or unreasonably optimistic in his outlook… Both of these are potentially true.
But the sunglasses are there for a very good reason. They are there for the 1% chance.
The 1% of which I talk is not that I would look ever so slightly cooler if I ran into Natalie Portman…. (again)….. But that story is for another day.
No, the 1% is on all those occasions where there is a slight break in the clouds. The low Autumn and Winter sun hanging in the sky can be instantly blinding.
Reflecting off a puddle, a damp road surface or even the ice you instantly lose all vision whilst driving.
This is no time to be searching for sunglasses. And slamming on your brakes would be potentially hazardous.
Stay calm, breathe and reach up and pull down your sunglasses. Voila, you and your cargo are safe.
Sometimes the 1% chance makes an immense difference!
