Preparations

Happy Friday and what a glorious end to the week today.

Some of you might well remember a Blog from a few weeks ago where I bumped into a friend at a petrol station and ended up signing up for a Trail Race in the woods.

Said friend has in the meantime injured himself and pulled out of the event which is now tomorrow.

Freddie Mercury once sang “the show must go on”.

And so tomorrow will be my first attempt at Ivar Formos.

Having checked the weather forecast I see that heavy rain is due to start exactly at the same time as the race.

Coupled with this is the wet weather we have had all week, and having chatted to a neighbour who drives the snow plows in Winter, he has told me that the entire area is pretty much underwater.

It would seem that a thermal wetsuit might be more suited to the conditions than my running clothes.

And yet I absolutely can’t wait to get started. It will be a great adventure. Also I know of at least one customer who will be joining me in running.

I always believe that legs and muscles only start to ache and hurt when you finally sit down…. And so with that in mind today there was no let upon my Dog Adventures.

Steep inclines and declines, coupled with some light jogging. Basically a day long warm-up.

Enjoy the remaining sunshine this afternoon and wishing you all a fantastic weekend.
