Let’s get High and Deep

I am almost certain that all of you in Oslo woke up to the sound of rain outside this morning.

Upon opening the blinds, it all looked rather wet and dark.

On my morning kindergarten drop off a few of the other parents, who know about my doggy adventures, made a few lighthearted comments regarding that it would be a wet and sorry day.

I considered swapping out my ski clothes for my rainwear.

But I settled for the most comfortable and practical clothing for the adventures.

A little rain and getting wet rarely kills people.

When the temperatures are hovering around zero I always have an ace card up my sleeve.

The trick is to go high, deep or both.

Get away from the warmth and micro climate of the city and into the cooler moisture of the woods.

I was lucky that my last pick up for my morning adventure lives gloriously deep and high in the woods.

And so whilst the morning rain and sleet lashed down on most Oslo residents, we explored in the most wonderful huge snowflake downpour.

As we forged new paths in the fresh snow there was a clear juxtaposition between the energy and joy of the bouncing dogs with the tranquility and zen-like feeling that the conditions afforded us.

You may well have already seen some of the videos I put out on our Instagram stories.

Sometimes all that is needed is a little local knowledge, a will to go a little further and higher, and of course a bit of luck.
