All too often in life we miss the Window of Opportunity.
Plans and schedules might change which suddenly open up a rare moment where the conditions are suitable.
In our hectic day-to-day lives it is also perfectly okay to pass up on some of these windows. Bit quite often I have found that a couple of hours later I regret not having undertaken the opportunity.
Instead of Carpe Diem it may be more a case of Carpe Momentum.
After all happiness is not a state of being but a fleeting emotion which we experience.
In finding and carving out these mini moments of opportunity we give ourselves energy.
These moments do not need to necessarily be physical and adrenaline based, though I must say I do enjoy those greatly.
It could be having 15 spare minutes and sending a message or giving a call to a good friend you have not been in contact with for a while.
This morning on my way back from kindergarten on my mountain bike I checked the time. I had some emails which needed answering and I wanted to take Minttu out for an hour adventure before work.
In theory I had all the excuses to just head home, crack on with a bit of work and then head into the woods.
Yet I knew full well that from the middle of today and for the next few days the forecast is for some pretty heavy rainfall. I would most probably not be on my bike again.
And so I seized the moment, dressed in my work gear and the company logo hoodie to go blast 20 minutes and feel the rush of fresh air in my face.
Let me tell you that a quick mountain bike is much more effective than a double espresso.
It is important to find periods of rest and relaxation, but sometimes you need to give yourself a little kick up the backside and allow yourself a mini last minute adventure.
Happy Weekend!
