Farewell Uncle Samus

Yesterday marked the end (for now) of a fantastic Adventure, spanning 8 years with Uncle Samus.

Samus has been with us since he was just out of puppydom.

Everyone, both Walkers and Dogs, LOVES Samus. A more gentle soul you couldn’t find.

Despite crowbar-ing Samus off the sofa or bed to get him to leave the comfort of the warmth at home, he has adored his Adventures with the gang.

Once his harness was on and we were on the way to the van he would literally dance down the pavement. Leaping up on the back of the van to inspect which of his mates would be tagging along.

In the woods Samus loved nothing more than to roll in grass, moss, frost and snow. It is his Elysium!

As the years went by his calm, wise character earned him the nickname Uncle Samus.

Samus is moving a little further out of Oslo to an area we unfortunately don’t cover. I have of course recommended someone in the East who can continue the excellent work of adventuring in the woods. I know he will be taken great care of.

It has been a truly great pleasure to adventure with Samus. Over the years I have seen his rise from only child to being the proudest and kindest sibling to 2 sisters, and soon a 3rd. I will sorely miss his family who have become good friends over the years. Thank you to Eyvind and Kristine.

I hope that I will still be able to occasionally join up with his new adventures in Østmarka with his new friends. And therefore it is not adieu, merely au-revoir to my great friend.
