The 4th Emergency Service

In the 1990s the Automobile Association (The AA, specialising in Roadside Assistance) in the UK had a slogan / tagline which was “to our members we are the 4th Emergency Service”.

(Police, Fire Department and Ambulance if you are struggling with the other 3)

I would imagine any Brits who are reading this blog will remember it well.

Having now run a service industry business for 13 years (this seems a very formal way of describing running a Dog Adventure company), I would say that our focus is on always being there to help our customers, and being their 4th Emergency Service.

We know dogs and we know Adventure. That is the fun side of the company.

But there is another side where we feel very grateful and privileged to help you all.

There are hundreds of reasons why someone might need Dog Walking whether in the short, medium or long-term.

Birth of a child, broken arm or leg, job travels, promotion, sickness or just to be allowed to have a little free time.

In the past few weeks alone I have received no less than five messages thanking my Team and I for the work that we do, and telling me how much are walks help their lives at this current time.

Even after 13 years receiving such messages, it still makes me emotional and humbled, yet extremely proud of the work we do and the service we deliver.

Being able to help out gives us extra meaning, beyond the dopamine and the adrenaline that we experience out in Oslomarka.

A reminder to all our clients that if you need a last minute walk for whatever reason you can send me a message 24/7 and I will get back to you as soon as possible. The earlier we know the easier it will be to ensure we can help.

Yet as many of you know we can sometimes help out at 15-30 minutes notice.
