If I can be completely honest I didn’t sleep that well last night. My daughter Anna asked if she could sleep in the double bed with daddy, and how could I refuse such a lovely request.
We went to bed pretty early, which in retrospect was a good thing. Around 1 a.m. I woke to find Anna bang in the middle of the double bed, star-shaped and having pushed me out towards the edge and a drop down to the floor.
Several times I attempted to gently move her back towards her side of the bed….. and yet each time within 10 minutes she had wriggled back and pushed me towards the precipice again.
In the end, like any good parent, I just clung on for dear life for the remaining five hours of my night.
I got up and decided coffee might be the solution. Three strong coffees back to back and I was bouncing.
I hadn’t even had a chance to look out the window.
However on our way to kindergarten I suddenly saw quite how beautiful the clear morning sky was. It’s signaled a fantastic day ahead.
And it certainly did not disappoint.
On my first adventure we scaled the heights of Maridalen. This allowed us a beautiful view of the entire Valley, basking in sunshine.
I could not help myself and sent a video to my friend who lives in London and loves both nature and Norway.
His response was simple and yet summed it up perfectly. It is also the title of today’s blog “mesmerising”.
