Tough Tuesday

My Dog Adventures today were actually super fun and set in the most beautiful surroundings as I explored with two great packs.

So you might be wondering why the title of today’s dog blog is Tough Tuesday.

I’ve said it before and I’ll repeat it again there is so much more to our business than just the Dog Walks.

Late morning I got an SMS with some incredibly sad news. One of our favourite all-time dogs had her results back from some tests at the vets, and they showed that she had cancer.

The cancer had spread and there was nothing that anyone could do. I was informed that she will be put to sleep on Thursday, and that any members of the Dog Walking Team who wish to say farewell, are welcome to pop in before then.

An hour or so later I stopped by for 10 wonderful minutes saying goodbye to a great friend, and fed her as many treats as I had on me. I reassured her that we didn’t need to head out into the cold today and she lay flat on the floor and got extra cuddles.

Then post afternoon Adventure it was time to stop by and chat with a customer whose dog passed away suddenly last week.

Although painful, emotional and tearful, it was a cathartic process for both of us to go through and talk about great memories of the dog.

An emotional rollercoaster of a day…. But these highs and lows give Life meaning.

So give your dog an extra long cuddle tonight!
