You may well think that today’s blog title refers somewhat to the anticipated warm weather which will be arriving in the coming days.
Alas the term “blossoming” today refers to something a little different.
I often get asked what the most rewarding part of my job is.
It is actually a tricky answer as there are so many different aspects which I love and find rewarding.
So let me cover “dog blossoming”.
Very often when a new dog joins our Adventures it has maybe not socialized, or been, in a pack environment since it was a puppy.
This can be a little overwhelming for some of the dogs during their first few walks. Therefore we take care to ensure that they feel as comfortable and safe as possible.
Some other new dogs may not have been socialized at all and therefore it is important that they understand that other dogs are friends, and that they are in a safe environment, where we encourage play and adventure.
Within 5 to 10 walks we often see an amazing change in these very dogs. They literally blossom, and open themselves up to fun and new opportunities.
To be able to witness this change is fantastic and unbelievably rewarding. Some dogs take a little longer, and some take almost no time at all. Everyone is unique and therefore there is no strict formula.
The rewarding feeling is not too different from that pride which a parent feels from time to time whilst observing their children.
Your dogs blossoming into dog pack adventurers make us super happy… Happy weekend!
