For once I had actually planned to write a different dog blog today. It will have to wait, but fear not I will use it another day this week.
It just seemed like too fantastic an opportunity to write about the Cheeky Monday Surprise.
The weather forecast said that a couple of centimetres of snow might come down overnight.
I awoke early, as always, and looked out the window to see that we had been spoilt.
It was hard to tell how much but it was clearly more than just a dusting.
As I took my puppy out for her morning walk, you may have caught our Instagram story with my excited Morning Snow Report. I mentioned that there was about 8cm of fresh snow in the woods near Sognsvann.
However the extra surprise was that only a few kilometers further into Oslomarka, it would seem that somewhere in the region of 15 to 20 cm had fallen.
It was not so much a case of stomping through the powder, as much as swimming through it.
Even the largest of the dogs were getting a super good workout. In places, where the wind had clearly accumulated some extra snow, I went in well past my knee.
Whilst it was tough walking to break trail, we all did it with the greatest of smiles and adoring the conditions.
February is certainly finishing with a flourish.
