Yesterday Alvaro had a tad of bad luck. Whilst returning to his van on his afternoon adventure, he slipped and immediately felt some pain just above his ankle.
He was able to get back to the van, drive and deliver the dogs home and then went straight to Accident and Emergency to get it checked out.
A few tests and some x-rays later they discovered a small fracture. This has unfortunately put him out of action for two weeks.
In some ways, with next week being Easter week and the fact that both he and many of your dogs are away, it makes the logistics easier.
He can rest up and we are doing the best we can to cover as many of his dogs as possible.
As I expected from Alvaro, his promary focus was more on not letting down your dogs than on his own plight and injury.
Over the years we have all picked up injuries and it is a tedious part of the job.
He seemed in much better spirits when I spoke to him earlier and is looking forward to getting back out and adventuring in two weeks.
In the meantime I’m sure you will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery and a pleasant, restful Easter.
A big thank you to those of you who have been very understanding and accommodating in either shifting walks, or letting me know that you were happy to miss out on an Adventure so that we could prioritize those other dogs and owners who are maybe in more need.
