It all started by accident.
As always I jumped in the van this morning and as the engine was warming up I chose a song to start my day….. Well, I was going to choose a song when Spotify suggested “Like a Prayer” by Madonna. Why not, I’d not heard it in about a month.
As I went to press play I accidentally pressed the wrong button and started up a playlist based around that very song…..
What was to follow was a nostalgic trip back to my bedroom and my mixtapes (recorded off the radio of course) from the ages of 8-12 (after 12, I turned more towards Green Day, Foo Fighters, Oasis, Blur, Nirvana…. All very good bands, but a different vibe).
But back to the Madonna inspired playlist and my van today has been the scene of smiles sing-alongs all day.
Endless absolute classics, of which I will name a few, so as to get you going:
You can call me Al – Paul Simon
Africa – Toto
Money for Nothing – Dire Straits
Everywhere – Fleetwood Mac
Listen to your heart – Roxette
I’m gonna be (500 miles) – The Proclaimers
And the Norwegian National anthem:
Take on me – A-ha
Singing is a source of joy and it set the stage for some quite wonderful walks as I continued the singing with your dogs in the woods, without any music….. The joys of being alone and not near any other humans.
Why not take a trip down memory lane and go listen to some of your favourite childhood songs pre-evening Dog Walk. It should get you both bouncing!
