Reclaimed by Nature

Over the last few years large areas of Maridalen have fallen victim to the dreaded lumberjacks and logging machines.

Whilst in some areas it has been well managed, in other parts large barren plains have been created and all the trees cleared and chopped down.

This has led to muddy, boggy and quite desolate areas within the valley.

Two such areas, higher up above Hammeren have been mud and rotting trees for at least 4 years now….. But not this Spring / Summer.

Finally the small saplings are growing high enough to provide cover for wildlife to return and shade to help the ground recover. It has taken time….. But Nature always finds a way, like the rivers carved through rock for thousands and millions of years.

Tree life starts anew and the natural ecological regeneration is underway again post Woodland butchery.
