This year, and like every year, the city disappears.
Whether viewing Oslo from eye level or from atop a nearby hill, the city becomes engulfed in greenery.
For any pollen allergies sufferers like myself, you know that the trees are now in full bloom.
During the Winter months down in the city and the surrounding valleys it can look rather barren. But then it is as if a huge green blanket or green tsunami has covered the city.
The occasional top of a building or an industrial chimney are visible, but the overall feeling is that Oslo sits mid woodland.
Oslo is unbelievably fortunate to have so many trees, bushes, parks and open green spaces in addition to being surrounded by Oslomarka.
If you, by chance, are taking a flight in the coming months in or out of Oslo you will see the green carpet below and struggle to see the demarcation of where the city ends and where Oslomarka starts.
With sunny days on the horizon it is a fantastic chance to revel in the green splendour of the city in which we live.
